Gearbox boss says Borderlands 3 won’t receive any DLC Vault Hunters

A recent report confirms that the Borderlands 3 would not receive DLC Vault Hunters as it received in the other games.

Randy Pitchford, Gearbox boss, says,” the feeling at the studio that’s more beneficial to expand on the Vault Hunters that are already in the game with future content, not start over from scratch with new ones. And this stance probably isn’t going to change, because, according to Pitchford, the data supports this.”

Pitchford further added that the team is currently working on the main game, for now, and I want that it will be the best if we will work towards expanding what the existing vault hunters can do. Working for creating new vault hunters won’t be as fruitful as working on the current ones for their future growth, said Pitchford.

Though Gearbox has not directly confirmed that they wouldn’t add DLC Vault Hunters to the Borderlands 3, the company has hinted that at present the developers are not working on adding the content to the game.

It might be possible that the game will receive four-story based DLC releases in the later part of the year, but the Pitchford provided no such information on Twitter.

There have been reports that Borderlands 3 is currently in the development phase for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC platforms. The game is said to be launched worldwide on September 13.

“Borderlands 3 is one of those games that people have been waiting on for so long that it seems as though it might be impossible to match the community’s excitement for it,” reads a snippet from the preview.
