Huawei is growing in China while Apple is falling apart: Reports

Though Huawei is banned in the US market, the Chinese tech giant is performing well in China, and there are reports that the sales of Huawei smartphones in China have overshadowed the iPhones sales.

Although Huawei is banned from selling most of its products in the US due to national security reasons, the company is doing pretty well in European and Asian markets. When it comes to selling smartphones, Huawei took over Apple in 2019 as the world’s second largest smartphone manufacturer next to Samsung.

As per the reports, Huawei in 2019 dominated the Chinese smartphone market and took a record share of 34%. Rivals of Huawei including Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, and Apple struggled in the first three months of 2019, according to reports.

Local sources say that Huawei is the only smartphone manufacturer in China that is growing while companies like Apple including others are facing downfall in the sales of their products.

A recent report confirmed that the Shenzhen-based company managed to ship more than 30 million smartphones in the first three months of the year 2019. The sales figures that Huawei has achieved until March 2019 is 41% higher as compared to that of the previous year.

On the other hand, Apple’s iPhone business is struggling worldwide. According to the sales report released on Tuesday, the Cupertino giant faced a downfall of 17% in its smartphones sales in the first quarter of the year.

On Tuesday, Market research firm IDC said, “Huawei’s smartphone sales worldwide grew more than 50% in the first quarter to 59 million devices. Samsung shipped more than 70 million smartphones during the same period, but that number represented a decline of 8%”.

“Huawei is now within striking distance of Samsung at the top of the global market,” IDC said in a report.
